    Description

    Deep Green Crude Zoisite Anyolite with Black Hornblende Inclusions. It weighs 424 Grams or 14.9 ounces. Mineral oil has been applied to show off the depth of the green color, which is all natural, after it is polished. Since the taking of these pictures, the mineral oil has been removed for shipping. This piece is roughly 5" x 2.5" x 2.25". There is a little ruby inside. This rock was named according to the native language of the Massai ("green").  It was first discovered in 1954 in Tanzania. Because of its color contrasts, it is an effective gem and ornamental stone ready to be carved and shaped for all kinds of jewelry. Most people refer to it as Zoisite, but this piece is Anyolite.
